Challenge 10 - Anything Goes Card Making & Paper Craft Scrapbook challenge - Gem of a Challenge

 Hello crafters - welcome to a new challenge!

This challenge is monthly - 4 weeks to enter with $40 in prizes per month.

So let's get to the Design Team inspiration for this challenge!

Rachael - I'm sharing a card I made using the brand new Pretty Flowers dies - I love this NEW RELEASE, make sure you check it out! I've used the Pretty Blossom dies along with the new Stencil Butter Frosting which gives such a lovely background using the Switchable circles stencil - I feel like these colours are perfect for Autumn.




Kaye - Christmas is fast approaching, and what a perfect time to create a new christmas decor for your home. and I did exactly that, using Honeypie Cutiepie, I colored her in Christmas shades to get into the Christmas spirit. Then I placed miniature Christmas lights to accentuate her into the snow globe. Enjoy! My Instagram - @kayeskraftivitee_


Julie - It’s September and it’s sunflowers with bees buzzing - which fits in perfectly with my passion for creating journals and all that go with them. And so this tag came to be using layers of papers and embellies from Polkadoodles Rose Bud Collection (this collection is a must) paired with a Blooms 3 floral image. Ink stenciling, bits of lace. and a touch of splatter create a backdrop for a popped up bee & floral blossom. Full details to create this project can be found on my Blog. My Instagram, Facebook


Kim S - For our challenge this week it's all about Christmas. I chose my girl of course, WINNIE from the White Christmas set. So many wonderful images to choose from in pre-coloured and black and white. I decided on a non traditional Christmas colour scheme of pink and red(which has become my favourite for christmas cards right now) I added in some extra ephemera and my paper selections come from Bella Bear-y Christmas set 2 and Jolly Santa set 2. I added the bow ephemera from Gingerbread Cookie set and the present from the Bella Bear Christmas set. Don't forget to enter this weeks challenge. There's a money prize to be won.

Maz - I'm clinging onto summer but I think this card still has some Autumn vibes...I've used the new Pretty Blossom flower dies together with the Leafy Fronds dies and some chipboard elements, finished off with the new Berry Background stencil.

Julie - This pumpkin-shaped shaker card is all treat, no trick! I started by using my Cricut to cut the pumpkin image from Polkadoodles Ghastly Ghost design directly into a folded card base. I also printed a non colored version of the image in the same size. Then used inks & blending brushes to create beautiful colors on the pumpkin and the leaves. I created a background panel with more ink blending and shimmer spray to create a completely eerie look! The shaker window was created by layering acetate behind the cut-out face, then adding a foam border to hold the sequins and beads in place. Once filled, I sealed it with the background layer, a sprinkle of bats, and a dash of Halloween sparkle. The card inside reads “Batty for Candy” - a sentiment from the same bundle. Nina - This sweet Christmas card features the adorable Gingerbread Holly from the digi stamp set Christmas Cutie – Gingerbread Holly. She’s wearing a red dress and a bow in red with white stripes – simply sugar-sweet! To match the theme, I used the coordinating digital paperGingerbread Holly’s Paper 2 – filled with lots of tiny gingerbreads, perfectly complementing the image. The “Merry Christmas” sentiment is from the Christmas Greetings set and adds the perfect finishing touch. I decorated the card with white die-cut flowers and small berry sprigs – a winter dream come true!

So let's get to the Design Team inspiration this week!

Kim S - Today I'm excited to share the three tags I created using the brand new the Buzzy Bee Gnomes Big Kahuna digital download set. I chose 3 of the pre-coloured images which makes creating and crafting so much easier. All the hard work is done for you and is absolutely adorable and so much fun to work with. For these tags, I really leaned into the charming bee and floral elements, combining them with some sweet sentiments. I love how versatile this digital set is, allowing for so many creative possibilities. Especially when using the pre-coloured images. 


Ana - Layers of love in every pocket! I designed this pretty tag pocket card with my Cricut and filled it with Polkadoodles Happy Cactus Succulent printable papers, floral embellies, pearl sticks, and soft ribbons. The star of the show? A pretty hand-colored digi stamp, Natures Beauty Girl brought to life with markers - popping perfectly against the subtle background. Rachael - Hello crafters! Have you seen the new Graduation release? It is so stinking cute!! School may have broken up in most places now but this great bundle can be used for other things like New Job, promotions, Driving test and anything else where congratulations arr in order, I just love it! You get great papers and extra bits in the bundle like these books and apples and the ephemera is amazing, it's great if you're a scrapbooker too! Hope you liek this card, I think it turned out really cute...


Kaye - For this challenge, how about an interactive scrapbook layout? Using the Bee Buzzy Flower Digital Stamp and the Flower Rebel Girl both colored with Ohuhu Markers. Cutting out a mason jar and adding a tag for that extra flair. For the water, we just made an upcycled crinkle paper out of tissue paper from a local store and either you insert your photo inside the mason jar or outside, I'm sure this will be a guaranteed hit! My Instagram: @kayeskraftivitee_

Ana - Made this sweet Mini Album with Tags using Polkadoodles Happy Succulent Cactus Printable Papers and a sentiment from the Honeypie Greetings pack. I designed the cut file in Cricut Design Space, added solid cardstock for the base and tags, and finished it off with a polkadot ribbon. Terri - I adore colouring this type of theme and decided to make a fun fold card and have the Swimming Coral Mermaid(and a turtle) “floating” on acetate strips. For this you need thick acetate or product packaging. It’s easy to create this style of card base and create it to whatever dimensions you like. Mine is 6x4 1/2 and I started with a 7 "pre-bought card base and then I cut a piece of thick white card stock to 6x4 1/2”. I scored and folded the piece of card every 1 1/2”, so that I had 2 “mountains" to adhere my floating elements too. With the 7” card base I turned it so it was top folding and trimmed it with my guillotine so it was 7x4 1/4, then trimmed the back to 6” tall and left the extra 1” on the front to be scored and folded to be a glue tab to attach my accordion folded card piece on to.
Before printing my mermaid and the background scene, I measured the size of the mermaid so it would fit nicely into the scene, flipped it vertically in Open Office (free version of Word) and copied and pasted so I had 3 mermaids on my horizontal paper sheet. With the ocean background I kept the page in vertical orientation and resized it it 4 1/2 inches wide. I then added a copy underneath but again flipped it horizontally, so that the two scenes, when adhered to the mountain folds of the card base, would look different and create a nice little pocket of ocean for Coral to float in. I also coloured more sand on the scene nearest the back so it would appear slightly taller too.
I used an ocean themed sheet of paper from Coral Mermaid the paper set to mimic water in the background. As the colours in this sheet were a lovely ocean blue and a very pale blue pattern, I made gentle flicks alternating two Copics BG11 and BG32, to make it more cohesive with the scene as I had used those colour when colouring up my scene.
I used a very versatile sentiment from the Coral Mermaid Quotes pack making this card suitable for everything from Birthday's to Graduations to New Jobs!
There are waay too many Copic colours used to list, but I will list those used on the mermaid: skin- E53, E51, E00, R02 & R11 (would usually be E50 for my lightest skin tone but my marker needed refilling); Top & flowers - RV63, V04 & V17; Tail - BG000, BG11, BG32, BG13, BG49, BG09, BV00, V04.
A top tip for you when colouring a scene is to ensure that you use a colour several times, as it helps the scene look more cohesive. This is why I added the two BG colours used in her tail onto the blue paper background.

Nina - I created two floral tags in a romantic shabby chic style. The delicate designs feature two different kinds of poppies from the  Blooms 6 Poppy Flower Bundle digistamp set  colored in soft rose and warm greige tones. The  sentiments °•May your Day Blossom with Happiness •° and °•blooming Beautiful •° are from the °•Spring Flower Mothers Day Friends Greetings Sentiments•° set.

Rachael - Hello again! I can't stop using the new Graduation release? so I had to make this cute card, it's great for just saying congrats and marking those extra occasions they might have through the year...
